US LBM Foundation assists in building wounded veteran's home
Representatives from US LBM were honored to attend the recent home dedication of retired Army Captain Jason Church in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
Jason and his wife Bella were gifted a mortgage-free, specially adapted smart home through the Gary Sinise Foundation's R.I.S.E. Program which builds homes for severely wounded veterans.
Captain Church had both of his legs severed below the knee in 2012 when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated while he was on a routine patrol in Afghanistan.
A native of Wisconsin, he returned to the area after retiring from the Army and graduated with his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The US LBM Foundation said it is proud to support the construction of the house, donating $250,000 to the project, with US LBM's Wisconsin Building Supply also providing discounted building materials and collaborating on the cabinet design to ensure the home's interior is not only beautiful but also functional and tailored to the needs of the Church family.
The foundation presented the donation to Church at the US LBM Foundation’s annual golf fundraiser in September.
