TuffBlock builds strong foundations, as rapid expansion causes Deck Block to crumble
Since the inception of Deck Blocks in 1988, instant foundation blocks have been the preferred method for creating strong and stable foundations for many professional & DIY projects worldwide.
Fast forward to today and just like in 1988, a new product is changing the game & taking deck installs to a whole new level. TuffBlock is the culmination of over 5 years research & development by the team at BuildTuff. Thanks to strong dealer up take, TuffBlock has tripled in sales versus the previous year & looks set to completely revolutionised the North American decking landscape.
TuffBlock is an instant foundation system designed to make deck installs quick & easy. TuffBlock is a high strength floating foundation system made from 100% recycled materials. An individual TuffBlock weighs only 1½ lbs, but can support up to 1,700 lbs and is break tested to 11,000 lbs. Designed with a ventilated underside to prevent moisture build up and deter termites, TuffBlock has been engineered to withstand the harshest conditions.
TuffBlock was primarily designed for low profile & raised decks and was also recently used on a commercial poolside project at the Carpenter Hotel in downtown Austin. TuffBlock comes with two varied slots sizes to accommodate 2” x 4” to 2” x 8” joists and 4” x 4” posts. Unlike concrete, TuffBlock will not chip, crack or corrode, which is why it comes with a 25-year warranty.
The benefit of TuffBlock’s lightweight design means they are easy to stack, store & transport versus concrete alternatives. Furthermore, TuffBlock aids retail space optimisation & maximises in-store profit. To put into context, you can fit 304 TuffBlock’s to one pallet, versus 64 concrete blocks. TuffBlock is extremely strong, lightweight, versatile & a great solution for your next building project. With a long list of retail, consumer & environmental benefits, TuffBlock is fast becoming one of the ‘must have’ products for the 2021 decking season.
