Top Women: Day One Recap

Speak up. Lead by example. Fight the unconscious bias. Those were among the calls to action during a panel discussion on diversity in the industry.

The CEO of the Network Executive Women led a “talking circle” of industry professionals during day one of the 2020 Top Women in Hardware & Building Supply event. And Stanley Black & Decker’s Tabata Gomez and Jeff Doehne share highlights from their company’s commitment to diversity, including a specific goal to achieve gender equality in the corporate ranks.

“Speak up. If you see something, it’s your responsibility to speak up,” said Tabata Gomez, Stanley’s chief marketing officer for the global tools and storage business.

Jeff Doehne, president and general manager -- The Home Depot, for Stanley Black & Decker. Brought customers and business partners into the conversation.

“It’s important as we look at our partners, they are creating a diverse workplace as well,” he said. “And making sure our organization not only reflects our end-users, but reflects the people we work with outside of Stanley Black & Decker, that truly makes both parties stronger.”
