Throwback Thursday: eCommerce advice from 2000
Even after 20 years, these best practices remain relevant.
The Dec. 11, 2000 issue of National Home Center News, the forerunner of HBSDealer, featured a front page article announcing that some big retailers – Lowe’s and Canadian Tire – we’re jumping into a brave new world of business by offering commerce on their web sites.
Even more interesting to historians of eCommerce is the page three article on National Home Center News’ inaugural eCommerce conference that brought together industry players and experts. One result was a collection of early eCommerce best practices. Most – if not all – of the advice shares might be plucked from today’s eCommerce webcast soundbites.
