Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, recently partnered with Habitat for Humanity of the Rio Grande Valley, to make special cleaning kits for the Mujeres Unidas/Women Together emergency shelters.

These cleaning kits will help provide a safe and comfortable environment for impacted families, said The Home Depot.

“Doing the right thing and giving back are two of the core values we uphold at The Home Depot,” said Herman Ochoa, assistant Home Depot store manager and Team Depot captain.

The shelters specifically serve those fleeing their homes and seeking safety, Home Depot reported.

“We’re proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity and we’re hopeful our efforts leave a lasting and positive impact on the Mujeres Unidas/Women Together emergency shelter,” said Ochoa.

The vision of Mujeres Unidas/Women Together, the shelter wrote on its website, “is to end violence so that individuals may live without fear, abuse, or oppression.”

Mujeres Unidas/Women Together is a nonprofit organization located in Hidalgo, Texas. It is dedicated to victims of family violence and their children.

Its mission is to provide shelter and support services to affected families in the community, it noted.
