Short & Paulk reveals expansion plans

A new location will feature lumber, building materials, and hardware alongside guns, ammo and farm supplies.

Short & Paulk said its new Tifton lumberyard will a streamlined lumberyard for swift and efficient pickup.

Short & Paulk announced via social media that it plans to open a new location in Tifton, Georgia.

In a press release posted on the prodealer’s Facebook and CEO Jay Short’s Linkedin pages, Short & Paulk said the new location is strategically located on Highway 82 West and will provide earlier access to customers.

Groundbreaking will take place in early 2024 with the location expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Short & Paulk said the latest branch will feature new product offerings including pet feed, hunting supplies, guns, and ammo.

Additionally, the site will feature a lumberyard that is designed to “facilitate the swift and efficient” pickup of lumber and building materials. 

An enhanced paint center and extensive hardware assortment are part of the new location’s strategy.

“We have been in business for 83 years and have seen a lot of success and challenges,” Jay Short said in the release. “This new location will be a mix of our existing model with a touch of the same offerings you would normally find at a Farm Supply or Hunting Outfitter location. It will reflect what we have from the past and our focus on the future.”

Short & Paulk operates 6 locations in Tifton, Sylvester, Leesburg, Dawson, Thomasville and Cuthbert, Georgia. 

The company also operates a door assembly shop in Tifton. Short & Paulk currently employs around 100 full and part-time employees. 

Short & Pualk serves jobsites throughout South Georgia, North Florida, and Southeast Alabama.
