Kodiak Building Partners has reached an agreement to acquire Shepley Wood Products.
The move is effective Dec. 10, according to an announcement from Kodiak and Shepley President and Owner, Tony Shepley. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1978, Shepley Wood Products serves the needs of professional builders, architects, designers, and homeowners in southeastern Massachusetts. Tony Shepley, who founded the company with a partner over 40 years ago, will remain as president of Shepley Wood Products.
The company will join the Retail Lumber and Gypsum Group of Kodiak and will report to Pat Flood, executive vice president
Based in Hyannis, Mass., Shepley set itself apart from six competing regional lumberyards since its founding by calling itself a “wood products company”, rather than a “lumberyard.” Today, Shepley remains the lone pro dealer in the region among those seven yards.
“Tony and his entire team are top-notch and set very high standards in every facet of their organization,” said Steve Swinney, president and CEO of Kodiak. “As we came to know his strategies and standards, we knew that we wanted to bring Shepley Wood Products under our umbrella.”
According to Kodiak, Shepley Wood Products has differentiated itself in the market by offering an immense product suite, utilizing technology to the fullest, and cultivating an educated workforce that answers every customer need. Further, employees are trained to anticipate their customers’ upcoming needs before they are even realized.
