The SCLC stair cassette ledger connector is manufactured in the United States, providing easy sourcing and delivery.
Simpson Strong-Tie has introduced the Simpson Strong-Tie SCLC stair cassette ledger connector.
The connector is a code-listed solution for safer, more efficient installation of preassembled stair cassettes to floor cassette headers.
As offsite construction and the use of factory-built building components continue to help improve productivity and efficiency in both commercial and residential construction, specifiers and contractors have sought a value-engineered means of installing prebuilt stair cassettes that can be assembled and installed faster than field-built stairs, providing trades with fast, safe access to higher floors on projects.
Installed on the floor cassette header in the factory using common nails, the SCLC is jobsite-ready for stair cassettes to be lowered onto the connector and then quickly fastened with Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws, helping reduce onsite labor costs and keep time-sensitive projects on schedule.
“Offsite modular construction provides building projects with a solution to labor challenges and quality control on the jobsite,” says Randy Daudet, group product manager of mass timber/offsite products at Simpson Strong-Tie. “The use of prebuilt stair cassette components is one of the ways modular techniques keep projects moving fast. The new SCLC ledger connector provides construction crews with speed and safety in the installation of strong prebuilt stair cassettes so projects stay on track.”
Manufactured in the United States for easy sourcing and delivery, the SCLC can be installed in conjunction with the LSCZ stair stringer connector and is galvanized for protection against corrosion.
Custom fastener tabs provide greater strength and stiffness per screw, and the solution offers ample fit-up tolerance for superior alignment, Simpson Strong-Tie said.
