Saint-Gobain, through its building products subsidiary CertainTeed Canada Inc., announced its annual Canadian Architectural Symposium will take place virtually this year, Nov. 16-17.

The Symposium is exclusive, invitation only, offering continuing education, industry knowledge and new products, in a safe, virtual environment, for architects, developers and designers.

“Making the world a better home speaks to the heart of Saint-Gobain and this journey that we’re on, which is rooted in innovation, challenges the status quo, and unlocks new value for our customers,” said Richard Juggery, CEO, Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed Canada Inc.

This year’s key pillars include a focus on North American sustainability initiatives.

Speakers will share advances such as: Renewable energy initiatives; building innovations such as horizontal membrane systems and open plenum solutions; fire-rated glazing; and Saint-Gobain’s recently launched community project Sustaining Futures, Raising Communities.

Below is a snapshot of the 2021 lineup:

  • Richard Juggery, CEO Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed Canada;
  • Emmanuel Normant, VP Saint-Gobain sustainability;
  • Bob Marshall, senior technical manager, CertainTeed architectural products;
  • Julia DiCorleto, VP innovation NA, managing director, Saint-Gobain solar solutions.

The event is an opportunity for the building materials manufacturer to connect with and learn from its architect partners, it noted, and this year’s theme will follow the firm’s mission of making the world a better home.

“As historical market leaders,” Juggery related, “we have the responsibility, and the power, to better inhabit the planet, and the architects we partner with are the ones dreaming this world of tomorrow. I’m looking forward to this time together to help shape a better world.”

Founded in 1904, CertainTeed, based in Malvern, Penn., has helped shape the building products industry. The firm’s slogan “Quality Made Certain, Satisfaction Guaranteed,” inspired the name CertainTeed.

Saint-Gobain designs, manufactures and distributes materials and solutions for the construction, mobility, healthcare and other industrial application markets, it related.
