Builders FirstSource, the nation’s largest building materials supplier, has made it official.
The Dallas, Texas-based prodealer has named Dave Rush as its new CEO.
Rush was named interim CEO by the board of directors on Nov. 18, 2022, following the departure of Dave Flitman.
The new CEO was also named to the company’s board of directors in November. Rush has been with the company for more than 20 years.

Dave is an experienced operator, has successfully navigated a variety of economic environments, and has proven over the course of his 23-year tenure with Builders FirstSource a commitment to operational excellence.”
Rush previously served as executive vice president, strategic management office, and oversaw the execution of enterprise-wide initiatives to advance the company’s long-term strategy and provide enhanced value to stakeholders.
Prior to his role as EVP at Builders FirstSource, Rush helped successfully lead the integration and synergy efforts for the merger with BMC and the acquisition of ProBuild.

Builders First Source supplies building products, lumber, prefabricated components, and value-added services to the professional market segment for new residential construction and repair and remodeling. The company also provides integrated homebuilding solutions, offering manufacturing, supply, delivery, and installation of a full range of structural and related building products.
The company operates more than 500 locations in 42 states.
For its third quarter of 2022, Builders FirstSource reported sales increased by 4.6% to $5.8 billion.
