R.P. Lumber Co., Inc. announced that it has opened a new location in Mt. Vernon, Mo.
The latest location for the family-owned hardware and building materials retailer is the company’s 83rd location overall and its 17th branch in Missouri.
“We’ve always done well in Midwestern towns like Mt. Vernon, and we’re excited to engage with the local communities and earn the respect of our customers,” said Robert Plummer, president and CEO of R.P. Lumber. “We know we’ll have some strong competition, but we see this location as a great opportunity to fill a void and better serve the entire southwestern Missouri region.”
R.P. Lumber opened its first location in Staunton, Ill. in 1977 and is now based in Edwardsville. This year the company is celebrating its 45th anniversary.
The company has continued to grow throughout the states of Illinois, Missouri, Wyoming, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The new facility is just two miles from the busy I-44 corridor at 211 South Spring Park Boulevard.
In March, R.P. Lumber opened a new location in Nevada, Mo.
In addition to offering high-quality lumber, shingles, siding, drywall, and other building materials at competitive prices, R.P. Lumber said the new Mt. Vernon location features a robust selection of hardware merchandise ranging from power tools and paint to plumbing and electrical supplies.
The Mt. Vernon store also features an experienced design team that specializes in designing everything from decks and patios to cabinets and countertops for kitchens and bathrooms.
“It’s important to us that we deliver our ‘Best Service. Best Value.’ promise to each customer we serve, so we’ve been working hard to add several experienced professionals to every aspect of our operation,” said Plummer. “We take great pride in contributing to local tax revenues and generating job opportunities for hardworking Americans, and this Mt. Vernon location is no exception. We are grateful to have hired top-notch new team members from the local area, and we are excited to have them join the R.P. family.”
R.P. Lumber employs about 2,000 associates in the Midwest. Additionally, R.P. Lumber operates 22 farm and ranch lifestyle stores in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio under the R.P. Home & Harvest banner.
