More and more companies are issuing ESG (environment, social and corporate governance) strategies and reports that are focused on "corporate responsibility."
This translates into corporations putting their best foot forward when it comes to environmental issues, giving back to communities, and fair hiring and promotion practices.
Essentially, a larger group of companies are providing transparency when it comes to saying they are not only running a great business but also being a good corporate citizen and neighbor.
A new list from Newsweek magazine ranks companies who have actually kept their word as they better their sustainability practices and treat customers and employees in a decent fashion.
The publication partnered with global research and data firm Statista for its fourth annual list of America's Most Responsible Companies. This year the list includes 500 of the U.S's largest public corporations.
Among the companies listed are some of the largest players in the home improvement retail and manufacturing industries.
Tractor Supply Company is among the companies that made the list and issued a statement regarding the achievement.
