The Week 33 Quikrete Industry Dashboard shows gas prices are down ($3.43) from last month ($3.51) and much lower than last year's nationwide average of $3.87 in mid August 2023, per AAA.

Also on the Quikrete Industry Dashboard, July's housing starts data (1,239,000) reveals a sharp dip in activity from June (1,329,000) and also compared to July 2023 (1,473,000). July 2024's single-family starts (851,000) were also down significantly from June's numbers (991,000) and compared to July 2023's 999,000.

In stock news, Masco (+34.2 percent), Sherwin-Williams (+31.7 percent) and Tractor Supply (+21.3 percent) have all showed large annual gains so far in 2024. Stanley Black & Decker and Builders FirstSource, meanwhile, experienced sizable jumps from last month.
