It was a busy week for housing in the latest edition of the Quikrete Industry Dashboard.
Total housing starts slipped in September, sliding 1.4% for the month as single-family starts dropped 4.7% from the August rate.
Also, existing-home sales declined for the 10th month in a row and decreased 1.5% in September compared to the prior month.
At the pumps, gas prices ticked slightly upward from the previous month and are up more than 13% from the same period a year ago.
Most companies tracked on the dashboard lost ground on Wall Street on a month-over-month basis.

In other news, new home sales data will be released on Oct. 26 while the latest Pending Home Sales Index will be issued on Oct. 28.
