The biggest metric update in the latest Quikrete Industry Dashboard is Consumer Confidence.
On Nov. 28, the Conference Board reported today that the Consumer Confidence Index increased in November to 102.0 from a downwardly revised 99.1 in October.
The Present Situation Index, based on consumers’ assessment of current business and labor market conditions, decreased slightly to 138.2 from 138.6, however.
The Expectations Index, based on consumers’ short-term outlook for income, business, and labor market conditions, also moved ahead to 77.8 in November from a downwardly revised reading of 72.7 in October.
At the pumps, gas prices remain below last month’s average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline.
On Dec. 1, the average price was approximately $3.28 per gallon, according to AAA. This compares to a price of $3.46 per gallon one month ago.
Next week’s dashboard will include the latest unemployment and job numbers, which will be released on Dec. 8.
