ProDealer Industry Summit welcomes Rep. Walorski

9/28/2020
Rep. Jackie Walorski of Indiana.

The 2020 ProDealer Industry Summit will feature Congresswoman Jackie Walorski.

Rep. Walorski (R-Ind.) is the lead Republican cosponsor of the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act, a key legislative priority of the lumber and building material industry. She will discuss her support for the legislation and the critical role affordable housing plays in our nation’s economic recovery.

Walorski will also share her views on the current political climate in Washington, D.C. and discuss key issues facing the country today while addressing the summit. The congresswoman is a lifelong Hoosier, born and raised in South Bend, who has dedicated her career to helping families.

First elected to Congress in 2012, Walorski currently serves on the influential House Ways and Means Committee.

During her tenure, Walorski helped author a bipartisan law to protect victims of military sexual assault and served on the conference committee that negotiated bipartisan, comprehensive legislation to combat opioid and heroin abuse.

Before serving in Congress, Jackie served three terms in the Indiana Statehouse, where she became Assistant Floor Leader and worked with then-Governor Mitch Daniels to restore fiscal responsibility, reform taxes and health care, and promote economic growth in Indiana.

Walorski and her husband Dean previously spent four years as missionaries in Romania, where they started and ran a foundation to provide food and medical supplies to impoverished children. She also worked as a television news reporter in South Bend and as a development director for colleges and universities in Indiana.
