Poll results: Here's good news
After March of 2021, home improvement was the only game in town. Share of wallet across the sector shot through the roof, and hardware stores, home centers and lumberyards – with their state-approved “essential” designation – kept the doors open and the cash registers humming.
The unusual situation made shambles out of time-honored benchmark of year-over-year sales.
Against that background, HBSDealer asked readers to describe their business now compared to those earlier days BP (before pandemic).
At the latest tally, 53 percent say business is better (including 12 percent who said it was “much better”) than it was before the pandemic. Only 21 percent say it was "worse" (including 6 percent who said “much worse.”)
