A year ago, HBSDealer asked for readers to share their number-one, top-of-the-list challenge facing their business.

What a difference a year makes.

Thhe latest HBSDealer reader survey asked the same question: “What is the number one challenge to your business today.” We offered the same slate of choices.

It turns out, there’s a new leader: Staffing shortages, which jumped from 26 percent in 2022, all the way to  54 percent and top billing in the latest poll, a year later.
