The technology of 3-D printing is advancing. But will it ever really affect housing?

A recent article on the front page of the New York Times business section asked in bold type: "Will the Future of Housing Be Printed Out in 3-D?"

As if to answer the question, a photo beneath the headline showed a housing community in Nacajuca, Mexico, built with an 11-foot-tall 3-D printer. This particular project was described as a test case, and an effort to house local residents living in poverty. 

Such stories are not uncommon. But will 3-D printing ever really play a meaningful role for home construction? Here's this week's poll question:
