Paul Dean joins MaterialsXchange

MaterialsXchange, the Chicago-based B2B e-commerce platform for commodity raw materials has expanded its leadership team by adding industry veteran Paul Dean to its organization.

Dean will serve as the director of business development. 

The industry veteran has more than 30 years of experience, holding leadership roles in LBM distribution and software. Dean most recently served as the CEO of Progressive Affiliated Lumberman’s Co-operative and as EVP of LBM Advantage. 

“Paul has a solid background in both lumber distribution and technology, making him a natural fit for our electronic marketplace and the next chapter in LBM commerce. He has fostered an extensive network in our industry and brings impressive insight to help us lead this evolution,” said Mike Wisnefski, CEO and co-founder of MaterialsXchange. 

MaterialsXchange went live last fall, providing an efficient digital solution for managing the supply chain of North American softwood lumber and structural wood panels. 

“Paul is responsible for the business development and end-user experience of multi-level distribution and independent lumberyards,” says Ashley Boeckholt, chief revenue officer and a co-founder of the company. “It’s an exciting next step in our continued growth.” 

Last month MaterialsXchange announced its partnership with Raven Logistics, as MaterialsXchange continues to expand its product offerings to include rail freights.
