“The unhoused and marginally housed community in Atlanta has been impacted by COVID-19 in unimaginable ways,” said The Home Depot.

The Home Depot Foundation has partnered with a network of nonprofits like Gateway CenterAtlanta Habitat and Quest Communities who are dedicated to serving community members in need across the city.

“We have the opportunity to make a difference right here, right now,” said Heather Prill, sr. manager, The Home Depot National Partnerships. “Through these local partnerships, we are working to make a true difference and affect change that will be felt throughout our hometown.”

Raphael Holloway, CEO of Gateway Center, said this continued partnership is an opportunity to give people without homes a voice. “The Home Depot Foundation has provided a space for Gateway Center to share our mission and impact with their social media network.”

Gateway Center offers case-by-case services around housing stability, health and wellness, job training and placement, family and community engagement and financial literacy, Home Depot noted.

“We hope the ‘new normal’ will be shaped by an increased social awareness of the issue of homelessness,” added Holloway.

Gateway Center provides a trauma-informed and a client-centered environment where individuals can receive the tools they need to end their homelessness and achieve self-sufficiency, it related.
