NLBMDA talks lumber with Canadian Embassy

The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA) reported that it met with the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C. to discuss the softwood lumber dispute and ongoing supply chain concerns. 

In recent months, NLBMDA has held several meetings with government officials on both sides of the U.S.-Canada border regarding price volatility and supply chain disruptions in the lumber market. 

NLBMDA released the following statement after the meeting:

“NLBMDA had a positive meeting with the Canadian Embassy regarding the latest status of softwood lumber negotiations and supply chain disruptions in the lumber market,” said NLBMDA President and CEO Jonathan Paine. “NLBMDA appreciates Canada’s willingness to re-engage in negotiations with the U.S. on the issue of softwood lumber and find a resolution to the ongoing dispute. NLBMDA will continue to work with government officials and industry stakeholders on both sides of the border to seek solutions that bring long-term stability and certainty to the North American lumber market.”
