What's the forecast for outdoor living trends?
Belgard Hardscapes is offering its two cents on outdoor living trends for the summer.
The interlocking paver supplier's garden trends report for 2015 points to an inclination toward low-maintenance products that contribute to a tranquil (yet entertainment-ready) space.
Here are the themes:
Bringing the indoors out: This has long been heralded as a coming attraction to patios and decks, but many homeowners are veering toward indoor comforts in outdoor spaces.
Lighting: Outdoor light fixtures are de rigeur for highlighting gardens, pools, walkways and more.
Grill updates: Outdoor kitchens are being stocked with wood-fired brick ovens, matching woodboxes, grill islands and more.
Adding dimensions: Rather than one flat expanse, homeowners are opting for staggered levels with paved retaining walls and steps or a sunken seating area, pool or fire pit.
Adding water: Water displays and fountains offer an interesting design element and an added layer of ambiance.
"At Belgard, we know that the list of things to do in the summer is endless, but we think that enjoying your outdoor space should be at the very top," said Joe Raboine of Belgard Design Studio. "Even small updates to an outdoor living space can make a big difference, and this season's trends are versatile and adaptable for every style."
