Weyerhaeuser names vp-international operations

Weyerhaeuser has appointed Marvin (Ray) Risco as vp-international operations. He will report directly to Mike Branson, senior vp-timberlands.

Risco will oversee Weyerhaeuser’s existing international operations and will support the company in current and new ventures. He also has shared responsibilities with the controller’s office for corporate oversight of international operations.

“Ray’s experience in many aspects of our business is an important element given the sharper focus we are developing in South America and other geographies,” Branson said.

Risco had been managing director of the company’s South American operations while living in Uruguay. He joined the Weyerhaeuser Forestlands International team in 1998 after working for the Gillette Co. in Latin America and Europe. In the following years, he worked in the planning, development and management of the Latin American and Austral Asian businesses. He also provided financial leadership for the company’s European composites business and Hardwoods and International Products.
