Westlake to buy St. Louis-area store
Westlake Ace Hardware will purchase Brandt & Sons Ace Hardware in Maryland Heights, Mo., bringing the number of Westlake stores in the St. Louis area to three.
The deal is expected to be completed on July 27.
According to Westlake, the move will be a seamless transition of ownership and the nearly 14,500 sq. ft. store will retain management, store personnel, and much of the current product mix.
Westlake’s other two area locations are in St. Louis on Watson Road and in Brentwood, Mo. The Brandt & Sons store will take on the "Westlake Ace Hardware" banner.
“We are excited to expand in the St. Louis area and continuing Brandt & Sons outstanding tradition of customer service,” said Joe Jeffries, president and CEO of Westlake Ace Hardware. “More importantly, we look forward to showing our new neighbors in Maryland Heights how we live the Ace Helpful Promise every day by delivering reliable service, helpful advice, and products to help them get their projects done right.”
Brandt & Sons dates back to 1950. The retailer teamed with Ace and opened its Maryland Heights location in 2010.
Financial terms of the deal were not revealed.
Westlake currently owns and operates 138 stores in California, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, and Washington. It has been part of the Ace Hardware Cooperative since 1959, and a wholly owned Ace subsidiary since 2012.
