West Fraser announces lumber production curtailments

Vancouver, British Columbia-based West Fraser has announced additional lumber production curtailments at three of its B.C. sawmills, due to weak markets and a strengthening Canadian dollar.

The company is planning curtailments at each of its Houston, 100 Mile and Chasm sawmills, with shutdowns for at least two weeks starting Aug. 4.

The decision to restart operations depends on market conditions.
