Walmart, Lowe’s to share Baltimore site

2/20/2018

A former auto dealership in Baltimore may provide a place for the city’s first Lowe’s store, according to an article in the Baltimore Sun. A proposed $65 million retail and residential development, scheduled to open in the fall of 2011, would contain a double-decker store with Walmart on top and Lowe’s on the bottom.

Much of the Lowe’s store would be underground, and the Walmart unit would measure 93,000 sq. ft., about half the size of a Walmart Supercenter, the newspaper reported. It will be Walmart’s second store in the city of Baltimore.

The development, called 25th Street Station, would also contain 80 to 90 residential units. The current site, Anderson Automotive, is a former franchise of General Motors.
