USG updates packaging to meet new OSHA guidelines

2/20/2018

USG Corporation has unveiled an updated look for 2015, just in time to meet new OSHA regulations taking effect this June.

The new packaging, which is also part of USG's rebranding that began last year, is designed to meet the 2015 OSHA mandate to standardize global hazardous material warnings via its Global Harmonization Standard. The new rule requires certain elements on product labeling, a uniform format for Safety Data Sheets and employee training.

Elements of the new packaging include a clear, uniform layout, new logo and corporate imagery, easy-to-read instructions, and compliance with OSHA guidelines.

“We are excited about our new look and corporate brand,” said Linda McGovern, VP marketing USG. “The goal is not only to connect our products to our corporate image, but also to showcase how to effectively and proactively meet government mandates on packaging.”

USG stressed that its product has remained exactly the same, despite the redesigned packaging.

The new packaging will hit shelves beginning this January.
