Two Beacon board members are retiring

2/20/2018

Beacon Roofing Supply, Inc. is parting with two of its long-time directors next year, who are retiring on Feb. 9 at the expiration of their current terms.

James Gaffney, 75, is the longest-serving director on the board (having joined in July 2004). He is currently Chairman of Beacon’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, though he previously served as chairman of Beacon’s Audit and Compensation Committees. He presently serves on public boards as a director of Pool Corporation and Armstrong World Industries, Inc.

Wilson "Rusty" Sexton, 79, has been serving on the board since a few months after Gaffney. He has served continuously throughout his tenure on Beacon’s Audit and Compensation Committees. He has also been chairman of the board and a director of Pool Corporation since 1993, where he was CEO between 1999 and 2001.

"For over a decade, both Jim and Rusty have provided tremendous leadership and guidance to our board of directors," said Beacon chairman Robert Buck. "They dutifully have served on all of our board committees and, with over a century of private and public company experience between them, have provided expert advice on every matter that has come before our board. Our employees and shareholders have benefited greatly from their contributions and our entire board of directors will miss their participation in our future meetings.”
