Trex names new CFO
Trex Company, the decking and railing manufacturer, has named Dennis Schemm as vice president and chief financial officer.
Schemm succeeds Bryan Fairbanks, executive vice president and CFO, who was named as the company's new president and CEO in February.
Fairbanks will become CEO on April 29 as current Trex President and CEO James Cline will move to the position of chairman of the board of directors.
The new CFO has over 25 years of experience as a financial and operating executive at publicly-traded companies. Most recently, he served as the SVP and CFO of Continental Building Products from 2015 until its acquisition by CertainTeed, a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, in early 2020. Previously, he held senior financial roles at Armstrong Flooring and Danaher Corporation, following a 15-year career at Monsanto Company.
“Dennis brings extensive industry knowledge, financial acumen and the proven ability to lead,” Fairbanks said. “His background and continuous improvement mindset make him an excellent business and cultural fit for Trex. I look forward to working closely with him, along with the executive leadership team, to execute on our strategic growth plans.”
“I am excited to join the Trex team, having long admired the company for its market leadership, premium brand, great products and unparalleled channel partners,” Schemm said. “I look forward to working with the entire team in support of continued long-term value creation at Trex.”
