Trex Commercial launches Ascent windscreen
Ascent is a post-supported glass windscreen designed for commercial exterior use.
Trex Commercial Products, the manufacturer of ornamental railing systems for commercial building applications, has introduced Ascent.
Ascent is a post-supported glass windscreen designed for commercial exterior use. Ideal around pools, outdoor dining areas, and balconies, the new product delivers unobstructed views while also diverting wind to create a more enjoyable environment and outdoor experience.
“As architects and designers increasingly incorporate outdoor spaces into their design plans, it is vital to consider the impact that Mother Nature can have on a space’s functionality and potential for enjoyment,” said John Lewis, president and CEO of Trex Commercial Products. “Ascent provides protection from distracting winds, without sacrificing the very thing that draws patrons outside in the first place – the view.”
While most commercial windscreen systems are capable of handling 10-psf wind loads, Ascent is designed to hanle 8 times that amount, with a qualified wind load of 80-psf. This increased wind load allows for installation at much higher altitudes, such as balconies and rooftops.
At a standard height of 6-foot, Ascent provides extensive coverage for furniture and patrons. The product’s height is completely customizable based on individual project needs.
Unlike traditional glass windscreens that require installers to lift large panes of glass and slide them in from the top of the post system, Ascent uses an easy-to-install aluminum snap-fit system with concealed fasteners.
Ascent is available in four finishes – Powder Coated, Painted, Kynar and Anodized – for a custom look to complement any setting.
Trex Commercial Products, based in Minneapolis, Minn., is a subsidiary of Trex Company, Inc.
