Tractor Supply gives back to frontline workers

Tractor Supply Company is donating $250,000 to the New York State COVID-19 First Responders Fund.

The donation was announced on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” during an appearance by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

The fund was established by Cuomo to support COVID-19 frontline healthcare workers with expenses and costs, including food, transportation, childcare and housing assistance.

Talk show host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres displays a $250,000 donation from Tractor Supply Company.

The donation is being made through the new Tractor Supply Company Foundation, which was introduced with an initial focus on COVID-19 recovery efforts.

“It’s an honor for all of us at Tractor Supply to support frontline healthcare workers in New York as they serve those in need during this crisis,” said Christi Korzekwa, Tractor Supply SVP of Marketing. “On behalf of the Tractor Supply team, we thank them for their tireless efforts and personal sacrifices.”

Tractor Supply opened its first location in New York State in Oneida in 1986. Today the company operates 90 stores in the Empire State along with its Frankfort distribution center. The farm and ranch retailer has more than 1,800 employees in New York.

As an essential retailer, Tractor Supply stores are have remained open with adjusted hours during the COVID-19 crisis. During the crisis, the company upgraded its mobile point of sale and same day/next day delivery capabilities.

Tractor Supply has more than 33,000 employees and operates 1,863 stores in 49 stares as of March 28. The Brentwood, Tenn.-based company also operates 180 Petsense stores in 26 states.
