Tractor Supply donates to Pedigree Foundation
Tractor Supply Company has donated $50,000 to the Pedigree Foundation to help fund grants for dog shelters and rescue organizations.
From December 2017 to February 2018, participating Tractor Supply stores donated $1 for every Pedigree Brand purchase as part of a special charitable promotion.
Formed in 2008 by the makers of Pedigree dog food, the Pedigree Foundation is dedicated to helping dogs in need find homes by supporting shelters and dog rescue organizations throughout the country. According to the foundation, about 3.3 million dogs end up in shelters and rescue organizations every year, and nearly half of them never find a home.
“We are proud to support the Pedigree Foundation in providing financial assistance to shelters and rescue organizations that are dedicated to making sure dogs in need find loving homes,” said Karl Olsen, vice president and divisional merchandise manager at Tractor Supply Company. “Thanks to the generous contributions of our customers, Tractor Supply was able to contribute the maximum donation of $50,000 to help our four-legged friends find the safety, security and homes they deserve.”
Over the last decade, the foundation has given more than $6.7 million and awarded nearly 5,000 in grants to shelters and dog rescue organizations.
“We are so thankful to Tractor Supply and all of those who participated in this promotion for their commitment to the plight of homeless dogs,” said Bo Segers, Pedigree Foundation president. “This generous donation will allow us to further our mission of helping dogs find forever homes by providing us with additional funds to award more grants to shelters and rescue organizations across the country.”
Based in Brentwood, Tenn., Tractor Supply Company operates more than 1,725 stores in 49 states. The rural lifestyle and home improvement retailer also owns and operates Petsense, with 174 stores in 27 states.
