Tornado strikes Dayton 84 Lumber location
84 Lumber’s location in Dayton, Ohio suffered severe damage when it was struck by EF3 tornado.
The storm struck in the late hours on May 27 and damaged as many as 90 homes in the region in addition to numerous local businesses.
Because the store was closed for the evening, associates were off-site and avoided any injuries.
In a statement to HBSDealer, 84 Lumber said, “Our Dayton, OH, store was damaged when a strong tornado struck the region the night of May 27. We’re incredibly thankful that no associates were present when the storm hit. The store is currently shipping to builder customers but has not yet reopened to the public. We’re continuing to assess the damage and take the necessary steps to get operations back to full capacity.”
More than a year ago, 84 Lumber assisted in recovery efforts when a tornado struck close to home in Uniontown, Pa. 84 Lumber is based in Eighty Four, Pa. and operates about 250 locations in 30 states.
