Michigan-based True Value dealer Family Farm & Home has a number of game-changing developments to announce.

The biggest is surely the passing of the torch from president and CEO Al Fansler to his son, Tim Fansler, and son-in-law, Bob Tarrant.

The three opened their first location in Michigan 13 years ago, having expanded since to Indiana and Ohio.

“Bob and Tim have been key players in the success and growth of Family Farm & Home," said Al. "They have supported the growth of the company from its beginning to its existing 35 stores, while simultaneously developing their talents and leadership skills. Since Bob’s promotion to chief operating officer and Tim’s to chief merchandising officer two year ago, they have both effectively progressed to where they are today; they are completely responsible for all of the day-to-day operations of the company."

Effective Feb. 6, Bob and Tim have been serving as co-presidents of the company, with Al on board as chairman and CEO.

Additionally, the retailer's newest location in Bowling Green, Ohio, is now open. The 1080 S. Main Street location is taking the place of a former Staples.

Tim McLaughlin is in place as the store's new store manager, and a grand opening celebration is in the works for March 21.

Family Farm & Home currently spans 35 locations, which includes the new Bowling Green location.
