These mowers are being recalled over a fire hazard
Two models of mowers are being recalled due to a problem with the fuel filters, which can become brittle and fractured, thus leaking fuel and posing a fire hazard.
The affected models include the 2015 Toro TimeCutter Riding Mower and the 2015 Exmark Quest Riding Mower.
The recall affects 8,600 units of the Toro mower (in addition to 400 sold in Canada), as well as 500 units of the Exmark mower (and six sold in Canada).
The 2015 TimeCutter riding mowers are red and black, with a gray seat. There have been five incidents of fuel leaking reported, but no reported injuries. They were sold at Home Depot and other hardware, lawn and garden stores nationwide from November 2014 through October 2015 for about $3,400.
The 2015 Quest riding mowers are red, black and gray. “Exmark” is printed on the sides and in front of the operator seat. “Quest” is printed on the front of the riding mowers. There has been one reported incident of fuel leaking, but no injuries. They were sold at hardware, lawn and garden stores nationwide from November 2014 through October 2015 for about $3,700.
