Tech upgrade for Ganado Feed & More

Ganado, Texas-based Ganado Feed & More says it selected the Epicor Eagle N Series retail business management solution to help run its business in a competive market.


To support growing operations, and a newly opened second location, Ganado Feed decided to modernize its retail technology with a solution that offered strong point of sale (POS), inventory management, and improved ordering functionality, the company said.

To support growing operations, and a newly opened second location, Ganado Feed decided to modernize its retail technology with a solution that offered strong point of sale (POS), inventory management, and improved ordering functionality, the company said.


“As a small business grows, it becomes increasingly difficult to stay on top of margins and offer the best prices for customers,” said Amber Watkins, vice president, Ganado Feed & More. Watkins said the company selected Epicor as a technology partner based primarily on its inventory and ordering functionality, and its tools to identify competitive pricing.


“Finding the best product prices involves a lot of time looking at margins,” she said. “With the extra time we'll have by using the Eagle N Series system, we'll be able to easily see where we need to adjust margins -- hopefully even before we receive products. This will also help us save money on projecting what we'll need in the future. The solution will remove the guesswork out of purchasing."


Watkins also pointed to the relationship between Epicor and Orgill, the retailer’s buying group, as a plus.


“Orgill does its own market research which is an effective tool for our business -- instead of our company having to shop at big box stores, Orgill has specialists that shop them and know the margins we can get on products,” she said. “Because of the Epicor and Orgill partnership we'll have greater buying power and more time to focus on margins within our store, which will help us better compete in the market."
