Suspected shoplifter dazzled by chandeliers
Sheriff deputies arrested a Land O’ Lakes, Fla., man for defrauding Home Depot of approximately $14,000 in a scam involving chandeliers, according to a report by WTSP NBC News.
Over a three-month period, authorities said, Nicholas Andersen visited Home Depot stores more than 61 times in four counties to steal chandeliers through ticket-switching. He allegedly replaced the UPC on an expensive chandelier with the UPC of a cheaper model. Then he returned the chandeliers for store credit, which he pawned for cash, the report said.
Andersen is being held at the Pasco County jail on a $30,000 bond.
