Suspect loses life over two cans of paint
A man suspected of stealing two cans of paint in a suburban St. Louis store was killed on Oct. 24 as he tried to flee the scene of the crime, according to a news report on KTVI-TV.
Employees at a Home Depot store in Brentwood, Mo., suspected Terrence Holloway of stealing the paint and called authorities. When police arrived on the scene, Holloway drove off in a Jaguar at a high rate of speed. Before the police could give chase, Holloway lost control of his vehicle, crossed two lanes of traffic and hit an oncoming SUV.
The other driver sustained minor injuries, but Holloway was killed, according to the news report.
"[Holloway] apparently saw the police car and executed a U-turn, and before the police could even start after him, he took off,” said Chief Steve Disbennett of the Brentwood Police.
