In stores now: Idea generators

Customers entering Home Depot and Lowe’s stores at certain locations are met with plenty of ideas on what to buy.

Home Depot is giving away a booklet of coupons titled “Let’s Make Things Shine.” Cleaning products are the emphasis – and Bounty and Tide are featured on the cover. The coupons for 24 different products range in value from 50 cents to $5.

At Lowe’s, shoppers receive a “Fall Starter” project-idea booklet filled with “Simple projects to prep your home for fall.” Among them: Yard clean up, entrance and driveway refresh, deck maintenance and garage organization.
