Stihl’s battery assortment arrives in Ace
Ace Hardware emphasizes its deal with Stihl equipment.
Ace Hardware unveiled an assortment of battery-powered Stihl equipment that’s an option for all of the co-op’s member dealers, not just those that are certified Stihl dealers.
The program allows Ace dealers to associate themselves with the coveted Stihl brand, which as a matter of policy is sold through independent dealer networks – not the national home center chains.
“This is breakthrough stuff,” said John Surane, executive VP and chief merchandising and sales officer at Ace Hardware Corp. He announced the program to dealers during the co-op’s recent convention in Orlando, Fla.
The new Stihl display includes battery-powered tools and accessories – no gas power equipment here. Trimmers, blowers and chain saws are the main attractions to the “Battery Power. Made by Stihl.” display. Work gloves and ear protection are among the accessories.
Surane added that Ace’s relationship with Stihl is also strong online. Acehardware.com was described as the only national retailer with an online presence with Stihl.
Stihl makes the top selling brand of gasoline-powered handheld outdoor power equipment in America, as well as the number one selling brand of chain saws in the world, the company says. In the last several years, it has made a push into battery powered equipment.
