SRS Distribution is ‘Military Friendly’
SRS Distribution has been recognized as a “Military Friendly Employer.”
The McKinney, Texas-based roofing and building products distributor was given the recognition by exceeding six standards set by Military Friendly, which measures a company’s commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful opportunities for the military community.
Categories that SRS exceeded include hiring and onboarding, opportunity and advancement, culture and commitment, support and retention, policies and compliance, and recruiting and sourcing.
"We are fully committed to supporting veterans and their families. This recognition brings us great pride because it reaffirms that our commitment is making a positive impact on the lives of those who have dedicated themselves to our freedom,” said Dan Tinker, president and CEO of SRS Distribution.
In March, SRS announced that it was hiring 500 additional military veterans over the next five years. The company also established Veteran Advisory Council consisting of SRS employees from multiple branches of the military.
Other industry companies on the 2020 Military Friendly Employer list include Beacon Roofing Supply, Lowe’s and The Home Depot.
SRS operates more than 270 locations under 30 banners in 44 states. The company has been fully engaged in expanding operations through new openings and acquisitions. Last month, SRS acquired Slover Roofing Supply in Midland, Texas.
