Simpson Strong-Tie launches cordless Quik Drive
The lightweight, cordless system is ideal for subflooring, decking and high-volume fastener jobs.
Simpson Strong-Tie has introduced lightweight cordless versions of its popular Quik Drive auto-feed driver system for collated fasteners.
Designed to improve speed, reliability and user comfort for a wide variety of fastening applications, the Quik Drive cordless system features quick-loading screw strips, precise countersink adjustment and the patented Quik Drive auto-advance mechanism.
The new Quik Drive cordless kits include a 2,000 rpm DeWalt driver motor with an adapter to connect Quik Drive systems for 20-volt cordless operation. Simpson Strong-Tie has also reduced the weight on extension tubes to offset battery weight and allow for comfortable stand-up driving. Free of bulky extension cords, the Quik Drive cordless system is ideal for subflooring, decking and other jobs requiring a high volume of fastener drives.
“The Quik Drive cordless kit provides contractors with tremendous mobility on the jobsite while delivering the same durability and dependability that our corded Quik Drive auto-feed systems are known for,” said Brandon Ward, fastening systems product manager for Simpson Strong-Tie. “Paired with the advanced Strong-Drive WSV Subfloor screw and our other low-torque collated fasteners, the Quik Drive cordless system allows contractors to drive more screws per battery charge.”
Compared to standard collated fastener drivers, the Quik Drive cordless system used with low-torque fasteners results in less wear on the driver motor as well as longer battery life, with a 25% increase in the number of screws driven per charge. Besides easing strain on the equipment, faster, easier driving also increases contractor comfort and productivity.
Simpson Strong-Tie has released three Quik Drive cordless kits: the PRO300SG2 decking system, which drives fasteners up to 3" in length; the PRO250G2 subfloor system, which drives fasteners up to 2 1/2" in length; and the PRO200SG2 multipurpose system, which drives fasteners up to 2" in length.
