Shoplifter of the Week: Suspect with a shopping list
ACentral Florida woman was arrested for shoplifting at a Home Depot store on Nov. 11 after surveillance video caught her stuffing DeWalt drills and Duracell batteries into her personal bag, according to an article in the Pinellas Park Beacon.
Jolene Marie Manthei, 29, was taken into custody by police after Home Depot loss prevention personnel stopped her after she allegedly walked out of a Home Depot store in Pinellas Park, Fla., with unpaid merchandise.
Manthei had two different types of DeWalt drills and Duracell batteries, for a total value of $284, in her purse, according to authorities. Manthei told police a male in her family had instructed her to take the items, threatening her with a gun.
She also carried a handwritten note listing “any DeWalt tools,” torches and lighter for torches as items to steal from Home Depot. It also included items Manthei should steal from Walmart, including batteries, radios, fog lights, clothes, a wireless network adapter, the article said.
Manthei was charged with shoplifting and booked into Pinellas County jail.
