Shivvers recalls riding lawn mowers
Shivvers is recalling a host of its Country Clipper riding lawn mowers, citing a possible fire hazard.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the ignition module in the lawn mower can fail to ground, which might lead to overheating and melting.
So far, there have been four reports of ignition modules overheating and melting, though no injuries have been reported.
Affected models were manufactured between October 2011 to May 2014 and are equipped with 27-horsepower Kohler Command CV740 or Kohler Courage SV740 twin cylinder engines. Model names include Challenger, Charger, Edge, Jazee, Jazee Pro and Jazee Pro DLX.
Consumers are being urged to immediately discontinue use and to contact a Country Clipper dealer for a free repair.
The recall affects about 1,650 units in the U.S. and 261 in Canada.
