Sherwin-Williams names new director

Sherwin-Williams announced that John Stropki was elected to the board of directors, effective July 15, 2009. Stropki is chairman, president and CEO of Lincoln Electric Holdings.

He was also appointed to the Compensation and Management Development Committee of the board.

"John brings a wealth of manufacturing and management experience to our board and will be a great asset to Sherwin-Williams and our shareholders for years to come," said Christopher Connor, chairman and CEO of Sherwin-Williams.

Stropki started working at Lincoln Electric more than 35 years ago, serving in various management positions before being named president and CEO in June 2004 and being elected chairman in October 2004. He has been a director of Lincoln Electric since 1998.
