Scott’s Tractor, O’Dell Tractor sold to Coleman Equipment

Coleman Equipment of Bonner Springs, Kan., recently bought Scott’s Tractor & Equipment of Smithville, Mo., and O’Dell Tractor Company of Independence, Mo.

All of the staff at Scott’s Tractor has been moved to Coleman Equipment. Scott Kolbeck, owner of Scott’s Tractor, has accepted the position of Coleman Equipment Corporate sales manager. John Walker, salesman and assistant manager at Scotts for 13 years, has accepted the position of store manager for the Smithville location.

O’Dell Tractor's John Coleman has been named store manager of the Independence location. He is assisted by long-term O’Dell employee, Dennis McCarthy in sales and parts. They will continue to sell the Kubota tractors, Toro mowing equipment, Stihl outdoor products and will expand the business by adding Kubota Construction equipment and a Rental fleet offering both short-term and long-term equipment rentals.

Coleman Equipment is a family-owned and operated business specializing in providing equipment, rental, parts and service to the light construction, suburban farm and grounds maintenance business. Scott’s Tractor & Equipment is a progressive dealer for Kubota tractors, Scag and Exmark mowers and Stihl power products. 

Putting the three companies together allows Coleman Equipment to expand its Kubota construction equipment business and capture a larger share of the tractor and commercial mowing business in the total Kansas City Metropolitan area. All three locations, Bonner Springs, Smithville and Independence are open 7:30 to 5:30 Monday through Friday and from 8 to noon on Saturdays.
