Roseburg hires Director of Reliability
Roseburg Forest Products has appointed Chris Metcalf to the newly created position of Director of Reliability.
Metcalf will oversee the analysis of reliability and maintenance practices and needs across the company and implement solutions to create a high-performance manufacturing culture, Roseburg said.
"As Director of Reliability, Chris will build a small team of company resources dedicated to helping our plants define and implement best practices for asset management and reliability," Senior Vice President of Operations Jake Elston said. "Equally important, Chris will also work with our operational units to help determine what local resources are needed to drive improvement in our business."

For the past 15 years, Metcalf has lead improvements in maintenance and reliability for several major manufacturing organizations. He has worked in the engineering, operations and centers of excellence departments at organizations including Anheuser-Busch, Sara Lee, DuPont Pioneer, Titan America, and Enviva.

Based in Springfield, Ore., Roseburg manufactures lumber and building products, including softwood and hardwood plywood, particleboard, thermally fused laminates, and I-joists, among others. The company owns and manages more than 600,000 acres of timberland in Oregon, North Carolina, and Virginia.
