Rona expands house brands

Canadian retailer and distributor Rona unveiled new products in the Haussmann and Haussmann Xpert lines, the company's own controlled brands of tools.

Haussmann and Haussmann Xpert accessories and products are exclusive to Rona and make use of the latest technology available in the professional tool industry, according to a statement.

Boucherville, Quebec-based Rona said it is constantly trying to stay in front of trends and consumer needs. "Building on the success of Rona and Rona X-pert lines, we redefined our strategy in terms of private label tools and are now offering Haussmann and Haussmann Xpert products in stores across our network," said Normand Dumont, Rona executive VP merchandising.

The Haussmann line includes: 9-inch Band Saw, 10-inch portable saw bench, 12-inch sliding compound mitre saw with laser, a 14.4-V cordless drill and lithium-ion 14.4-V cordless drill, among other products.

Haussmann Xpert tools include a 6 1/8-inch jointer, a 10-inch jobsite table saw, a 13-inch planer and a universal portable stand for mitre saw.

The Rona store network generates more than $6.3 billion in annual retail sales.
