Rommel’s Ace Hardware opens 12th store

Rommel’s Ace Hardware, a chain of hardware stores in Maryland, Delaware and Virginia, opened its 12th store on Chincoteague Island, Md., the Delmarva Media Group reported.

The new Rommel’s store replaces Parks Hardware and Paint, which opened in 1979 and had been for sale for about two years.

Chincoteague Island is a seaside resort community, and the Rommel’s merchandise mix will cater to both local residents and tourists. All Parks employees will remain with Rommel’s, the article said.

Agrand opening of Rommel’s Ace with vendor participation and giveaways is planned for May.
